Windows and plumbing

Windows are going in, house wrap is going on and holes are being drilled for plumbing and electrical! Many things to keep track of all at once.

Material for the front porch arrived.

Master bedroom "satin etched" glass windows let light in but block the neighbors view from the kitchen!

The fireplace arrived...it's heavy!

The framed holes for the central vac hose units. Hopefully we'll install some of the PVC this weekend!

Ready for windows

The roof is nearly covered with Ice and Water shield and the framers are preparing to install the windows. They finished up most of the detail framing work inside and are ready to put the front porch on. We've been busy making decisions and ensuring all of the little details are correct!

The black stuff on the roof is Ice and Water Shield which is like tar paper, but it's plasticized with a sticky glue on the bottom side to form a waterproof seal.

Plant shelf above the entrance coat closet.

Archway from the great room into the hallway.

9' drop down ceiling above the kitchen with curved soffit to match the kitchen island and archway.

Framed wall around the stairs.

A nice big tunnel for the skylight above the kitchen island.

Framed walls in the garage.

Pocket doors and archways.

Unpacking windows and prepping the sills.

Good old DuPont Tyvek house wrap!

Roof details

The roof is almost ready to be dried in. A few more photos from the work Monday and Tuesday. We're off to celebrate with Amy and Pat so we'll see what happens for two days without us! They framed the shed dormer in the great room. The three little awning windows up top should add some more sunlight to the great room.

The new excavator came and finished up the trench for the electric line and the bump out for the pad on the side of the house where we will store trash cans.

The skylite is in.

The chimney is sheathed.

Another pretty sunset from the roof!
